Flying Start Pre-school in West Molesey, is seeking an experienced, enthusiastic and visionary Early Years practitioner and leader to join our fantastic team as Pre-school Manager.
As our Manager, you will inspire and motivate the team through your passion for early childhood education and your commitment to providing high-quality, nurturing and engaging learning experiences for every child in our community. You’ll lead by example, fostering a positive, supportive environment where both children and staff can truly thrive.
Outdoor Learning

Our preschool is lucky to have a beautiful large garden and a peaceful sensory garden, where children can explore, play, and grow. We also have a trained Forest School Leader who brings the magic of outdoor learning to life three days a week.
We’re now looking for a passionate and inspiring Manager who shares our love for the outdoors and wants to take our outdoor learning to the next level. The ideal candidate will have the vision, creativity and leadership skills to further develop our outdoor provision, positioning it as the distinctive strength of our nursery and establishing us as the childcare provider of choice within the local area.

Purpose of the Role

Oversee the day-to-day operations of the preschool and ensure the delivery of high-quality provision.

Lead, support, and inspire the staff team to deliver outstanding early years practice.

Build strong and positive relationships with children, parents and the wider community.

Take responsibility for Key Children and be included in room ratios during mornings, modelling best practice for staff.

Use dedicated administration time in the afternoons for planning, assessment, and leadership duties — with one day per week to work from home.

Essential criteria

A full and relevant early years qualification of at least a Level 3

Must hold a suitable level 2 qualification in maths or must achieve one within two years of starting in the position

At least 3 years’ experience of working in a Nursery or Preschool

At least 2 years’ experience of managing a team

Sound knowledge of child development from birth to five years.

Knowledge of the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS).

Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection procedures.

Knowledge of the Ofsted Framework
